DIY Essential Oil Body Wash
You may recognize the bottle I re-used to make my own body wash with essential oils. I love scented body washes, but never really knew what was in them. Slowly I have been changing my beauty routine over to natural products because I learned that what I put on my skin is also absorbed by my skin and eventually into my bloodstream... and hey, ew! This body wash recipe is simple and easy to make. And the best part is... you can make it any scent you want.. and change it every time!

DIY "Poo-Pourri"
By now you have probably seen the product, Poo-Pourri. I ran across it in a shared bathroom in an office building in Wyoming and loved it. Poo-Pourri has a cute bottle, lovely scents, and it works! Just spritz a little into the bowl before you go #2 and the stinkies are gone!

Essential Oil Chai Tea Recipe
Who doesn't love a hot cup of tea on a cold winter's day? One of the reasons I love the brand of essential oils I use is because they are sourced and extracted with far more stringent requirements than any other essential oil out there. They are also extremely transparent about where their oils come from and how they are extracted. Because of this, many of their oils are ingestible.

Clean Eating and Supplement Blends
For a couple of months now I have been trying to eat better. Eat real foods. Eat fresh foods. Not eat sugar. Not eat processed foods. It's a challenge, but one well worth it. So far I have lost 12 pounds. Not bad considering all I have done is try to eat better. Some weeks I am better than others, but trying has been making a great big difference!

Essential Oils for Lower Back Pain
Recently one morning, as I began putting away the clean dishes from the night before, I threw out my lower back. This is the first time it has happened to me and the first thing I thought was, "WTF, I'm not even 40!" But... as the pain set in and I realized it wasn't going to go away on its own, I started a little research on how to alleviate the pain and speed my recovery along.

Nevada {50 States of Yoga}
I arrived into Las Vegas, Nevada late on Easter. Straight to my hotel, Luxor, I checked in and wandered down to Tender, their steak and seafood restaurant to treat myself to a Sunday dinner. I love to try "new to me" foods. I ordered their appetizer, Big-Eye Tuna. A sampling of raw tuna served on a seaweed radish salad with soy sauce. The tuna was amazing. Since having tried raw tuna for the first time in Maui last summer, I order it anytime I see it on a menu. For dinner I had the Game Tasting Trio. Venison Osso Buco, Rocky Mountain Elk Medallion and Wild Boar Rack Chop with Farro, Fig Chutney and Red Currant Venison Reduction.

DIY Yoga Mat Cleaner
I had never really thought too much about cleaning my yoga mat. I hadn't considered all the germs, sweat and funk from my own home and various studios that could be {or is} collecting on my mat.
During my most recent 50 States of Yoga trip I discovered yoga studios asking patrons to use a mat cleaning spray after practice to clean down the studio's mats. Well, that just makes sense. Especially in a studio on shared mats!
But... taking it one step further. At home I use my own mat at local studios and on my own {not always vacuumed} floor at home. Shouldn't I be cleaning my mat too? Yeah... definitely!

Alabama {50 States of Yoga}

Alabama the beautiful... |
Courtney and I rolled across the Alabama state line early afternoon on Monday. We stopped to take a photo at the border crossing and comment on the homage to Jefferson Davis and the property of a ramshackled, abandoned bar it was on. It was sort of a strange introduction to my first time in Alabama... and having had just heard Sweet Home Alabama miles earlier, I had a vision of something different in mind. As we drove on into Alabama we stumbled upon a car - covered in beer cans - at a recycling center. How could I not stop and take a picture of such a thing!
