the big dipper.... and her fearless sidekick!

i love when nature speaks to me!
driving home tonight...
after a much needed journey to plymouth....
i was led by the big dipper...
brighter and larger than i had ever seen before!
and she felt full!
i mean she felt like she was overflowing with abundance.
(yeah ok, i'm a silly hippie, but its true!)
i felt like she was there for me...
that mother nature (or those kookie guys as nasa)
had moved the sky around so i could see her...
big and bright when i most needed too!

i felt like a bit of a slug today.
but i went to laconia, when i was supposed to.
and i took the dog for a hike at sculptured rocks in groton.
then i took a nap.
my lower right side (in the back, but not my back) is sore.
doesnt seem like muscles... but it seems sore.
so with the achey back... and the blah feeling...
i took a nap.
i set my alarm so i could get up for plymouth...
and when it went off...
i mumbled to the dog, i hate mornings.
it was 720PM.
i guess its not mornings so much that i hate...
but alarm clocks.
i dragged my sorry butt and sore backish area into the jeep.
and headed to dunkin donuts.
while walking out of dunks...
and sipping my coffee... i mumbled again, to no one in particular..
i hate mornings.
still not aware, apparently, that is was not morning. ha.
but i went to plymouth...
it was all that i needed...
and heading home...
shazam! the big dipper!
(but you heard all that already, huh?)
so... floating on my big dipper experience...
i get home and hop on the laptop..
and have an email... from califorNIGH-A!
i have a place to live!
(and there was much rejoicing!)
that big dipper was overflowing with joy...
because she knew what i was about to get!
an invite/confirmation that i had indeed been meant to live in alameda! ha!
i found the following post on craigslist a couple days ago...
and thought it sounded like someplace i had to live...
like i belonged there. like it was meant for me.
but how do you explain that to the person on the other end..
without actually getting a chance to meet them face to face...
and not sounding like a lunatic!??!
i dont know... but it all worked out.
i got the place... im in like flynn.
i'll have a place to call home in a few weeks when i get back.
and that leaves this fearless sidekick overflowing with joy!

room in charming Alameda duplex near lots of useful stuff
Date: 2009-10-22, 12:21PM

The spot:
• Charming duplex in Alameda, hardwood floors, tons of natural light, sweet and quiet neighbors in a sweet and quiet neighborhood.
• Smallish but fully functional kitchen w/ neat Wedgewood stove, bathroom w/ tub, shared common room which will probably painted and plantified and used sometimes for yoga. Oh, and it has a fireplace!!!!
• Outdoor areas for gardening, if you like to grow things, and a little yard on the estuary.
• Walking access to everything you need – the house is within a ½ mile of South Shore shopping center (Trader Joe’s, Safeway, big bookstore, etc), and ½ mile of Park St. business district (Julie’s coffee and tea, everything else cool in Alameda).
• Street parking
• Pets are ok with the landlord, so we can talk about that. It would be cool if you had a dog! ; Or nudibranchs!
The room:
• There are 2 bedrooms, we can work out which one you want. One has massive walk in closet, both have big windows.
The terms:
• This is month to month. I have committed to be there for November and December, and after that the place may be available if you want to stay, whether it’s with me or someone else.
• Utilities are not included; I don’t know what they will be since I have just arrived, but we will split them. I don’t intend to pay for TV or a landline, though.
The roommate (me):
• I am 28, currently doing some “continuing education” (dance, art, accounting) at the Peralta colleges, starting volunteering at Rock Paper Scissors collective, participating in some art shows, doing yoga, practicing inner peace, and considering taking off for some other continents at the end of the year. Maybe.
You:
• Pay rent on time, clean up after yourself, and generally value a peaceful, clean, quiet(ish), nice home.
• Don’t have to share the same interests as me, but I will probably end up giving preference to people who are artists, yogis, meditators, harmonizers, travelers, hikers, thinkers, decorators, dancers, laughers, lovers and the like.
• It would also be awesome if you were open to having Couchsurfers and/or hosting events!
