stopped in st augustine, fl.
went to a cathedral...
and saw the san marcos fort.
it reminded me so much of puerto rico..
and the forts in old san juan...
i miss puerto rico so much.
we went to the fountain of youth...
or at least where ponce de leon
was hoping was the fountain of youth.
they charge 8 bucks a person to get in!
commercialism sucks.
we then went to a mission.
mission of nombre de dios.
the first mission church in the us.
before the us was the us!
in 1565 the first catholic mass
was held there.
pretty amazing stuff.
i bought a couple of great books...
one on spiritual journeys and pilgrimages
in the united states
and one by mother teresa.
both pretty inspiring.
i've been reading a lot of religious books lately...
the screwtape letters by cs lewis...
zen catholism by dom aelred graham...
a primer of soto zen.
listening to a podcast by kusala bhikshu.
